About

Carole Cudnik for About Me webpageFramedHey there!

Thanks for stopping by. I’m Carole: a military veteran, former corporate America cubicle dweller, and transplanted West Virginia native living in Florida.

After I retired from the US Air Force, I took a defense contracting job supporting a military client. In 2013, I was one of the thousands who lost their jobs due to federal budget cuts.

I started my online business, freelance editing for indie authors, a few days later.

I was quickly hit with the realization that knowing how to do your job isn’t enough when you’re a new small-business owner. You need to get your name out there if you want clients.

The thought of marketing my services intimidated me.

The only thing I knew about marketing was I didn’t like pushy, in-your-face tactics that shouted, “Buy My (fill in the blank).” Nor was I a fan of the fear-inducing tactics many marketing & advertising specialists advocated.

There had to be a better way to connect with people. One that didn’t make me cringe and gave potential clients insights into my thought processes and ethics when working with me.

My search for a friendly, hype-free way to sell my freelance editing services led me to content marketing. I studied it and adopted the strategies.

The strategies worked. I got to the point where I was turning away clients.

Ironically, I discovered I enjoyed content marketing writing more than freelance editing, so I changed my business model in early 2017.

Now I help small-business owners like you with your content marketing needs.

Have a great day,
Carole
